Job Description:

The Zillow Group Engagement Communications Discovery Team builds the infrastructure to deliver listing notification updates across email and push for the Zillow brand! We are passionate about working with billions of notifications per day to deliver relevant content quickly to users inboxes and devices.

Job Responsibilities:

• Advocate for the highest quality of work through unit testing, automation testing, and monitoring
• Mentor junior engineers on the team and help them grow their career
• Design and implement reliable, performant, and scalable backend services
• Exercise agile development style to deliver and iterate quickly
• Provide leadership that helps navigate the team through complicated technical challenges
• Collaborate across different teams to ensure smooth project delivery for large cross-team projects

Job Requirements:

• Efficient communicator who is open to ideas and suggestions
• Proven experience in designing, developing, debugging, and delivering back end services
• Knowledge surrounding streaming technologies such as Kinesis and Kafka a plus
• Knowledgeable with various data-layer technologies such as Transact-SQL/PostgreSQL, Redis/Memcache, or Scylla/Cassandra
• Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science or related field; or 8+ years of relevant experience
• 5+ years of software development experience with high proficiency in Java, C++, C#, or another object-oriented language.
