Job Description
This key position provides leadership and direction to the facility maintenance department at United Hubs & Line stations with additional responsibility for the completion of assigned engineering projects.The successful candidate will be responsible for leading facility technicians in trouble-shooting & repairing industrial PLC control systems supporting 24/7 operations of critical Baggage Handling System (BHS) / Check Baggage Inspection System (CBIS) and Facility maintenance systems. Responsible for documenting root cause of failure and ensuring best practices are implemented to prevent re-occurring system failures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Technical support of United owned and operated Baggage and Facility systems, serving as primary interface for regionally assigned locations
- Responsibilities may include: maintenance planning and execution; preventative maintenance and mandatory project program compliance; productivity, accountability and dependability program management; safety and OSHA program compliance; local state & federal environmental code compliance; and (SLA) service level agreement compliance delivering the optimum level of facility maintenance in support of safe and reliable airline operations
- Partners with all local customer bases ensuring positive customer relations and service level goals achieved.
- Technical Support 24/7 of Critical Baggage Handling System (BHS) Check Baggage Inspection System (CBIS) and Facility Maintenance Systems
- Document root cause of failure and ensuring best practices are implemented to prevent re-occurring system failures
- Lead team performance and execution against all division and corporate maintenance objectives within the Facilities Department. This includes: maintenance customer service level agreement (SLA) compliance, maintenance quality and reliability performance metric execution, all in service level goals / tolerances, planned and preventative maintenance program compliance
- Ensures Facility systems meet standards for design, implementation, and acceptance. Coordinates with stakeholders and vendors for design and development of mechanical, electrical, and controls specifications. Includes review and acceptance of project specifications, drawings, and submittals throughout project lifecycle
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma
- 2-5 years’ experience in a maintenance or related management
- Goal setting and execution
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Position requires 40-50% travel for system support and new system installations
- Must be able to be on call 24-7
- Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license
- Must pass a background check including FAA clearances
- Must be willing and able to work during day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays; mandatory overtime may be required based on operational need
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
