Job Description:
The Director Maintenance Control is responsible for the daily activities and control of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for the Spirit Airlines Fleet.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensures daily oversight of Deferred Maintenance Items is assigned by Sr. Manager Maintenance Control.
- Partners with other departments in Technical Operations and the Operations Control Center in developing good relationships that lead to effective fleet management.
- Ensures that operations are conducted within conditions and restrictions of the Air Operators Certificate (AOC) and in compliance with applicable regulations and standards of the operator.
- Assists in the revision of company manuals.
- Identify and recall Spirit Airlines SMS program, Safety Policies, Security Policies, and Behavioral Standards.
- Overall responsibility for the activities of Maintenance Operations Control.
- Is responsible for the technical accuracy of the Minimum Equipment List (MEL), the Configuration Deviation List (CDL) and the Non-Essential Equipment and Furnishings List (NEF).
- Oversees the deferred maintenance and MEL program (CDL/MEL/NEF/GMM) Items.
- Directs Maintenance and Servicing of Spirit Airlines Aircraft.
- Has overall responsibility for Out of Service Aircraft and coordinates Return to Service Plans.
Job Requirements:
- Associates Degree or higher in an Aviation or Business Discipline preferred
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) (Required)
- Airbus 320 Family experience preferred
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate (Required)
Qualification & Experience:
- 5 years Management experience
- Proficient understanding of FAA Regulations, specifically Parts 91 and 121
- 10 years industry experience
