Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:
- Interpret engineering documentation to create accurate technician-oriented work instructions and process documents that fully meet design intent
- Validate and ensure correct configurations of flight capsules are maintained throughout the maintenance campaign
- Develop advanced tools to improve production and tech writer interfaces (optimize content delivery and limit manual content maintenance)
- Creatively overhaul and re-design any project or workflow to optimize comprehension, while meeting requirements
- Interact with engineers, subject matter experts, and production personnel to create and edit assembly and test work instructions or specifications
- Incorporate feedback/ change requests from engineering and production into existing documents
- Maximize process and instruction efficiency while reducing the probability of technician error
- Automate data collection and work scope development process between campaigns
- Produce solutions for special projects: technical, training, graphic design, or workflow development
Job Requirements:
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics
- Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
- Ability to understand safety requirements related to hazardous operations and implement appropriately
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse co-workers and personalities in engineering, production, and management; to have insight into their changing needs
- Overall mental fitness with the ability to work in a high-concentration, high-stress environment requiring prolonged mental concentration (under possible extended work hours)
- Familiarity with mechanical processes in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical, project management, computer, communication, and writing skills (typing, spelling, grammar)
- Ability to quickly learn, absorb, and apply technical content to further develop understanding of flight hardware, operations and/or test processes
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience with creation and editing of 2D and 3D graphics
- Experience converting engineering instructions and information into content intended for a variety of audiences and ability levels
- Technical writing experience in automotive or aviation industries
- Experience with build of large and complex assemblies
- Professional experience with Microsoft Word; proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience using Microsoft Office products
- Familiarity with HTML and SQL
- Experience with structures, pressure systems or avionics
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of experience in planning or technical writing within the automotive or aerospace industry
