Job Responsibilities:

  • Master schedule projects based on assigned resources and critical dates to meet company milestones. Present cost and schedule trade proposals to leadership. Be aggressive and creative to meet and beat need dates
  • Support the digital document management for project and maintenance records for assets affected by projects
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules and request for proposal (RFP) documents for vendors
  • Assist in improving the facilities department efficiency by developing automations and/or implementing novel construction techniques for quick delivery
  • Work with urgency to ensure minimal interruption to launch operations
  • Anticipate, clear blockers and clearly communicate work so technicians can work quickly and effectively
  • Keep accurate records of daily logs, progress reports, and financial reports
  • Interact with tradesman, contractors, and building officials to coordinate and direct maintenance, repair and installation of facilities support equipment and builds
  • Review and manage project request tickets. Create work orders when needed and manage to completion
  • Manage, coordinate, and be a liaison to facilities projects, including construction and maintenance operations at the SpaceX Cape Canaveral launch facilities
  • Co-ordinate the field implementation efforts for projects, including providing representation in the field at project meetings and walks, processing RFIs, submittals and invoices
  • Direct facility projects ensuring compliance to SpaceX safety standards
  • Participate in the construction bidding process, including attendance at pre-bid meetings and walks, processing of pre-bid RFIs, review of contractor proposals and award of project
  • Develop cost savings and efficiency gains for process improvements
  • Assist in maintaining the record databases and drawings files for each facility asset accurate to existing renovated conditions
  • Coordinate facilities projects to ensure vendors meet SpaceX, Air Force, and NASA standards while delivering promised services, materials, and craftsmanship
  • Participate in the design process, including initial field verification, customer requirements, concept layouts, development of details/specifications, coordinating technical review of all discipline work, scheduling reviews with project stakeholders, reporting on design progress to management and internal customers

Job Requirements:

  • Occasional travel may be required based on specific project tasks
  • Willingness to work outdoors
  • Ability to create/modify custom applications
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and calculations
  • Self-starter and possess the drive to pursue continued education on technologies utilized in the company
  • Demonstrated innovative thinking to drive continuous improvement
  • Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
  • Physical effort including standing, lifting and carrying moderately heavy materials or equipment (15 to 35 lbs.)
  • Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction
  • Ability to provide 24/7 on-call support in the event of an emergency situation
  • Willing to support as needed, nights and weekends
  • Demonstrated ability to independently and effectively manage projects in an extremely fast paced and changing environment

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience in lifecycle management of BIM models
  • 5+ years of experience in facilities projects and construction with the capability of both directing facilities related projects and providing hands-on support
  • 3+ years of professional experience in facilities design, renovation and/or construction
  • Experience in working in database systems. Linking information between systems and developing automations for efficiency
  • Degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field
  • Advanced experience and competence in 3D design software such as Revit, Civil 3D, etc.
