Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and observe hot work/confined space entry as it is being conducted, and afterwards, to identify and recognize hazardous conditions as early as possible
  • Hands on operations with both large and small fragile assemblies
  • Ensure all production services are performed on time, safely and in a professional manner
  • Recognize hazards and initiate protective action. If necessary, ensure the evacuation of all personnel in the event of a fire
  • Heavy rigging for large assemblies
  • Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions
  • Operation of personnel platforms (boom lifts, scissor lifts, etc.)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Perform vehicle tank cleaning operations
  • Stage, set up, assemble, test and install flight hardware
  • Use various mechanical tools without prior instruction
  • Mitigate the hazards and conditions in accordance with incident management best practices and SpaceX policies
  • Collaborate with production engineers to develop and document integration processes

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work in confined spaces
  • Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
  • Knowledge of pressure, temperature and flow measurement devices, mechanical and electrical systems, and propulsion engines
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • FAA Airframe and Power Plant license
  • Proficient with computers and the ability to use MS Office
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments
  • Skill in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience in the aerospace industry, marine, or automotive fields
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Experience supporting operations in a production, manufacturing, or construction environment
  • Experience with forklifts, cranes and heavy transport equipment
