Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist leaders with various Base, Local and Company committees and events and committees.
  • Ensures Flight Attendant recognition and awards programs are in place and follow up occurs with anniversaries, external commendation letters, LUV reports, Kicktails, On the Spot and all other special recognition awards
  • Must qualify and maintain all active requirements of a Southwest Flight Attendant
  • Conducts unannounced assessments (some require late night travel), gate checks, and visits to liaison with Leaders and Employees in assigned Southwest served cities (outstations)
  • Reviews Flight Attendant overall attendance and documents appropriate files
  • Responsible in assisting with sensitive and confidential material (i.e. Fact Finding investigations and/or note taking for Flight Attendant discipline meetings)
  • Responsible for coaching and counseling behavior, performance and appearance issues with Flight Attendants
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
  • Attend all required Leadership annual training (i.e. Recurrent Training, Drug and Alcohol training and any other training set by the Company or Leader)
  • Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to life items up to 50 pounds from floor to shoulder level is required. Also requires the ability to life carryon items from floor to above shoulder level with assistance
  • Weight must be of such proportion to height that a neat appearance is maintained and physical ability to perform all job functions is not hindered
  • The ability to, while facing forward, walk and fit comfortably down the aircraft aisle, fit quickly through the overwing window exit, and to fit into a jumpseat harness without modification, including closure without a seatbelt extension
  • Must be decisive, show attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Must have schedule flexibility, including working or flying in the evening, weekends, holidays. Occasional overnight trips for meetings are required
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with Internal and External Customers face to face and through written communication
  • Must possess strong organization skills
  • Must have the ability to comprehend and keep abreast of information pertinent to the job such as new procedures or rules
  • Must be able to read documents, follow instructions, learn and understand Company procedures, rules and regulations
  • Must maintain working knowledge of Flight Attendant Manual (FAM), work rules and expectations, and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
  • Must be able to work well as a Team
  • Able to conduct crucial conversations
  • Must be aware of hazardous situations and be able to provide a leadership role in an emergency event

Qualification & Experience:

  •  High School Diploma or GED
  •  2 years of experience directly or indirectly leading Teams or individuals
  •  3 years of experience reading and interpreting language within Collective Bargaining Agreements or Contracts
  • 1 year of Flight Attendant experience
  •  Experience in the airline industry
