Job Description:

The General Manager oversees all facets of the BlueCity operations including all aspects of safety above and below the wing. This includes ground operations business partners, negotiating and managing all business partner contracts, providing leadership, assisting Crewmembers as part of the Operations team, directing and coaching the Supervisor team, and representing JetBlue Airways in the local communities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for safety programs at the station to ensure a safe workplace for Crewmembers, customers, business partners, Aircraft, Ground Service Equipment and facilities
  • Ensure quality of customer service and JetBlue Promises, in-line with the high expectations Customers have for JetBlue. Responsible for resolving escalated Customer issues
  • Administers and maintains the budgets of the stations and develops cost savings ideas
  • Participates in airport authority activities and attends regular airport meetings
  • Participate in ad hoc committees; respond to ad hoc requests to establish, develop or re-visit guidelines, policies and/or procedures as they pertain to the operation or the Crewmembers
  • Partners with Director, Regional Managers, and Airports Leadership team to develop short and long-term vision for their stations, demonstrating forward-thinking in planning and execution
  • Responsible for meeting OSHA and local state requirements
  • Oversee daily operations, including performance goals, including coordinating and communicating with all departments in regards to operational integrity to improve communication and teamwork, which drive efficiencies and ensures company goals are met.
  • Act as Incident/Event Manager during irregular operations, and central point of contact for all station related operational decisions in conjunction/coordination with System Operations

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to handle objects up to fifty (50) pounds frequently and/or seventy to one hundred (70-100) pounds occasionally with the assistance of other people or tools
  • Able to travel and/or work variable hours, flexible shifts, including holidays and weekends
  • At least eighteen (18) years old
  • Complete fluency in written and spoken English
  • Depending upon location, may need to possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards
  • Experience performing under pressure and within fixed time constraints
  • Experience using a mouse, computer, keyboard and basic word processing, email and office applications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
  • Must be able to adhere to JetBlue Uniform Policy Manual Standards
  • Must be able to use handheld radios and microphones to communicate with operations and make all terminal announcements
  • One (1) year customer service, volunteer experience or sales experience
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills
  • Successfully complete a customer service assessment

Qualification & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Five (5) years leadership experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer
  • Ability to maintain a poised demeanor while working in a fast paced environment
  • Experience in engaging all people and all types of personalities and agenda
  • Ability to establish credibility and to be decisive
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, logically and coherently at various levels within the organization, both written and verbal Results oriented with the ability to balance other business
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards
  • Willing to travel and/or work variable hours, including weekends and irregular shifts
