GEICO’s Data Engineering team is looking for an individual with strong analytical, project management and organization skills to facilitate the Portfolio Management processes as a Senior Project Planner. The Data Engineering teams are focused on maximizing the use of our Data Hub by creating data stores that meets the needs our IT and business customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • This role involves the support of a broad IT Services PMO, which includes developing processes that ensure transparency and accountability, and implementing those processes in a scalable way.
  • Support an emerging Program Management Organization that is defining processes and managing projects at the same time.
  • Provide project management leadership by organizing and leading ongoing team planning sessions to identify key risks, scope changes, issues and dependencies across workstreams to drive insights and mitigation strategies for project risk management.
  • Working with multiple teams, engaging with Program Managers, Product Owners, and team members to help build and reinforce the Agile mindset and to embed Agile principles in the day-to-day work
  • Help establish governance structure where decision-making is weighted toward empowered teams Provides scaling expertise to align multiple agile teams, collaborate and facilitate quarterly planning with large groups, manage portfolio backlog, and facilitate decision making with cross-functional teams.
  • The Agile Program Coach would focus on serving at the SAFe Program levels to a align trains, development managers, business, and product with the shift our culture and processes to consistent methodologies and frameworks as we evolve our approach to Agility. Serve as Mentor, coach, and trainer for the ART while adapting approach based on trains maturity.

Job Requirements:

  • Outstanding time management skills, attention to detail, and coordination abilities
  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience in working with Agile team
  • Exposure or understanding of the SAFE agile framework and release trains
  • Track record of Agile process improvements across multiple teams
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to non-technical audiences

Qualification & Experience:

  • SAFe certified or other scaled agile frameworks
  • 2 years of experience proposing, implementing, and standardizing change across multiple teams
  • At least 2 years of Agile Coaching experience
  • BA/BS in Information Technology, a related field (business, finance, mathematics, computer science), or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years of experience in managing large scale projects that spans multiple stakeholders
