Job Description

Seeking experienced mechanical engineer to join an engineering organization in the Baytown, TX area

Primary responsibilities will involve engineering support and reliability improvements for rotating equipment in a plant environment

Jobs Responsibilities

• Specify new rotating equipment to comply with industry and company design practices
• Provide quality control and design reviews of new projects that involve rotating equipment
• Provide guidance to the business units on prioritization of machinery related work
• Need to be available for infrequent off-normal working hours support
• Ensuring safe, cost effective, operable rotating equipment and associated systems are provided and maintained to meet current business unit needs.
• Provide assistance in the field during plant startups, shutdowns or upsets
• Proactively seek improvements directed at increasing plant reliability
• Periodically review rotating equipment thermodynamic and mechanical performance
• Mentor younger engineers and provide technical training to mechanical and operations personnel
• Work in a team environment with other engineering disciplines, operations and mechanical personnel

Job Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge of industry standards for purchasing equipment as well as repair standards
• Refining / Chemical plant experience preferred
• Experience with rotating equipment support roles in a plant
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priority items
