Job Description:

The Trade Compliance Analyst position focuses on ensuring adherence with company policy and procedures as they relate to International Trade (export, sanctions) and Antiboycott Laws. The selected individual will be expected to clearly and effectively interpret, communicate, guide, and where appropriate, influence business units on a wide variety of transactions or dealings that trigger international trade or antiboycott compliance requirements. The position will be expected to partner with the regional compliance analysts to ensure that appropriate processes for international trade and antiboycott are implemented by the business unit.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary point of contact for supported business unit personnel needing guidance on trade compliance requirements to include export, sanctions and antiboycott compliance
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Analyst to establish and help deploy appropriate compliance procedures
  • Provide guidance and assistance for the export classification of products, software and data
  • Make preliminary assessment of potential licensing needs based on the classification of items
  • Provide clearance authorization for transfers of goods, software and data
  • As requested by the Compliance Analyst, provide training/presentations to impacted personnel within the business unit or to leadership
  • Provide guidance on the reporting requirements for antiboycott compliance, including the use of the Corporate antiboycott reporting tool
  • Assist the business unit with reporting requirements for the automated Iranian Transactions Reporting tool
  • Assist the business unit with the third-party sanctions screening process, providing sanctions clearances consistent with guidance provided by counsel
  • Review, and provide guidance to the business for all third-party network access requests, working closely with counsel
  • Conduct initial review of contracts which seek modifications to trade compliance clauses and provide an assessment of the changes as well as a proposal for further modification, working closely with trade counsel
  • Maintain records as required by the Chevron Retention policy

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, or Legal Studies, minimum 1-2 years of experience with International Trade, Import/Export and experience in the energy, oil services, global supplier, and / or banking industry are a plus.
