Job Description:

This position is responsible for the daily operation of the Lot Generation System which provides production with the sequence of operations required to produce a wide range of products for both Davenport and Danville. This is accomplished by keying off the order entry product number / code, standard practices, special practice records and quality requirement records, standard specification tolerances, special requirements, temper requirements, rolling practices, side and end scrap rules and finishing sequences.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of approximately 3,000 decision tables which create practices for over 12,000 customer quality records used to produce products fit for use by Davenport / Danville’s customers.
• Assists SCM Planners in evaluating and correcting issues during the planning process of lots in the mill in a timely fashion to support high levels of delivery performance.
• Supports generation of accurately stored practices in the PDF booking tool by resolving practices that bomb in the Lot Generation System.
• Evaluates and implements SPR/QRR, machine Selection and Standard Practice information provided by the Metallurgical and Production departments into the Lot Generation System.
• Maintains and designs tables using Arconic proprietary table language in the Lot Generation System that provides low cost, high delivery performance and high-quality products for customers.

Job Requirements:

• The ability to communicate, persuade or influence others to ensure the system output achieves low cost, high quality, and binary instructions to the production departments on the shop floor.
• Strong logical problem-solving skills are required to provide overall accuracy of the fabrication practice delivery system.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• A good working knowledge of Plate, Flat and Coil product flows, machine capabilities throughout the mill, recovery issues, ingot plant capabilities and customer quality requirements.
• Working knowledge of metallurgical nomenclature (alloy, temper) and the impact it has on practice generation at the production center level to achieve the desired mechanical properties.
• Excellent system thinking skills to assist in the management of manufacturing costs, recovery, quality, demand management balance across the mill, delivery performance and safety.
• Knowledge of Arconic proprietary decision table language and quick resolution to complicated table structures within the Lot Gen System and technical knowledge concerning Davenport / Danville machine capabilities to produce a broad product mix.
• Knowledge of the order entry system at the product level to program accurate and cost-effective practices that meet customer expectations.
